Bearing acceptance, requirements for warehouse and rust prevention of bearings.

Abstract: This paper discusses the specific requirements of the storage work such as acceptance, inventory, rust prevention and derusting of pumping products

The basic task of bearing storage is to prevent the bearing from rusting. The main reason for bearing rust is that it is corroded by humidity and acid, city and salt substances. In order to avoid moisture and contact between acid, alkali and salt substances and the bearing surface, the bearings and their commodity parts provided by the bearing manufacturer are strictly sealed. Bearing products with oil seal anti-corrosion packaging shall be protected from rusting C and B within 12 months if the rust prevention period is grade g, e and D under the condition of observing the rules of transportation and storage

 

Grade a products shall be free from rust within 12 months. The anti-rust period is calculated from the date of production.

 

The requirements for the acceptance, inventory, rust prevention, rust removal and other storage of bearing products are as follows.

 

1. Bearing acceptance

The main contents of the acceptance of the bearing and its commodity parts warehouse are as follows:

 

Check the integrity of product packaging. Check whether the packaging of bearings and their commodity parts is intact during transportation. If it is found that the outer package is damaged and the inner package is torn, which exposes the surface of the bearing product and affects the product quality, contact the relevant departments for treatment.

 

Quantity acceptance. The acceptance of quantity is unpacking inspection. Check whether the product code, specification and technical conditions are consistent one by one according to the purchase order and packing list, and check whether the order quantity is consistent with the quantity in the box. If any problem is found, contact the supplier for solution.

 

Acceptance of quality children. The quality acceptance of bearings and their commercial parts shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the contract between the supplier and the demander. The quality acceptance of large quantities of products should generally be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the rules for the inspection of rolling bearings and their commercial parts (jb3371-83).

 

2. Requirements for warehouse

No matter the bearing production enterprise, or the bearing use and business department should comply with the following requirements for the storage of bearing products in the warehouse.

 

(1) The warehouse storing bearing products must be well ventilated, dry, and the relative humidity of the environment shall not exceed 80%. The room temperature shall be kept at 25+10 ℃, and the temperature difference between day and night shall not exceed 10 ℃. Too low temperature will harden and crack the antirust oil, and harmful substances are easy to penetrate the metal surface and cause rust. Too high temperature will melt and lose the antirust oil and lose its antirust effect. The temperature changes violently in a short time, which is easy to cause rust by condensation on the surface of bearing products.

 

(2) The place where the bearing products are stored in the warehouse must be away from corrosive substances such as acid, alkali and salt, so as to prevent the bearing products from rusting caused by the erosion of such harmful substances.

 

(3) The warehouse storing bearing products shall be equipped with fire prevention measures and equipment.

 

3. Rust prevention of bearings

After long-term storage of bearings and their commercial parts, according to the provisions of the anti-rust period of bearing products, all expired bearings need to be re oil sealed for rust prevention or oil sealed for rust prevention after rust removal. The anti-rust steps of oil seal are as follows: clean the original anti rust grease on the bearing, apply new anti-rust grease, and package the greased bearing.

 

3.1 Clean the original antirust grease on the bearing

Before the bearing is repainted with antirust grease, the original antirust grease and dirt on the bearing must be carefully removed. According to different oil seal packaging methods, there are several methods to clean bearings:

 

Clean with gasoline. All bearings sealed with antirust oil can be cleaned with gasoline. For example, when cleaning a large number of bearings and dirty bearings, carefully clean them for many times until they are clean.

 

Clean with hot mineral oil. All bearings that are rustproof with thick oil or antirust grease should be cleaned by hot dissolution in light mineral oil such as engine oil and transformer oil. That is, heat the above light mineral oil to 95~100 ℃, immerse the bearing in it, swing it for 5~10min (depending on the size of the bearing and the degree of oil melting), take it out after the original antirust oil dissolves, wait for the mineral oil to flow away, and then clean it with gasoline or kerosene after cooling.

 

3.2 Repacking

Seal with antirust oil. At present, various bearings are widely sealed with antirust oils such as 204-1, FY-5 and 201.

 

Seal with 204-1 antirust oil. Clean the bearings, dip and apply 204-1 antirust oil diluted by twice gasoline or 204-1 to be diluted, put them indoors to dry, and then wrap them with polyethylene film and kraft paper or sodium benzoate paper and kraft paper, or directly put them into PVC plastic bags for sealing.

 

Seal with FY -5 antirust oil. The cleaned bearing (dehydrated after washing with water solution) shall swing in the following solution for 2~3min in sequence:

 

The first tank: sodium petroleum sulfonate 2%~3%, kerosene residue;

The second tank: sodium petroleum sulfonate 3%~5%, kerosene residue;

The third tank: FY -5 antirust oil 8%~10%, kerosene margin;

The fourth tank: FY -5 antirust oil 60% - 70%, kerosene residue.

 

The inner and outer packaging shall be carried out after the fourth tank is oiled out. The inner layer is packed with neutral paraffin paper or polyethylene film, and the outer layer is wrapped with kraft paper or sealed with PVC bags.

 

Antirust with 201 antirust oil (diluted with moderate engine oil). The antirust performance and scope of use of 201 antirust oil in bearings are basically the same as FY -5 antirust oil, and its oil seal packaging process is also roughly similar.

4. Bearing derusting

Due to improper storage, the bearing is rusted, and the bearing needs to be derusted. There are two commonly used rust removal methods: mechanical method and chemical method.

 

4.1 Mechanical method

Mechanical derusting is to remove rust by grinding. After cleaning the bearing, it is found that there is rust on the surface. Generally, polishing abrasive cloth or polishing abrasive paper can be used to gently grind the rust on the inner diameter, outer diameter and end face of the bearing, and wipe off the rust. The commonly used polishing abrasive cloth and abrasive paper are divided into 1#, 0#, 00#, 000#.

 

When grinding, pay attention to the same grinding direction as much as possible, and apply the force evenly, so as not to damage the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the bearing, so as to prevent sand and rust particles from entering the bearing during the rust removal process, so as to avoid accelerating the wear of the bearing during operation.

 

When there is corrosion on the working surface of the bearing ring raceway and the rolling element, it is generally possible to mix the mechanical oil and chromium oxide powder into a paste and apply it on the wool or felt for gentle grinding. It should be noted that the grinding direction should be consistent as far as possible, and the force should be uniform to prevent damage to the surface of the raceway and the rolling element.

 

Mechanical derusting is not only time-consuming, labor-intensive and inefficient, but also incomplete. There seems to be no rust by visual inspection, but the traces of rust are still hidden in the metal surface layer.

 

4.2 Chemical method

Chemical derusting is to dissolve and replace the rust on the surface of metal materials by chemical replacement. Generally, the process of chemical rust removal for bearings is: Cleaning and degreasing - hot water flushing - flowing cold water flushing - chemical derusting - flowing cold water flushing - neutralization first-class moving water flushing - purification - drying - rust prevention treatment. Before derusting, the bearing must be cleaned to prevent residues from affecting the effect of chemical derusting. After degreasing, soak the bearing in alkaline cleaning solution (85~95 ℃) for 5min to meet the requirements of chemical rust removal.

 

5. Conclusion

The storage of bearings starts from the warehouse of the acceptor. The environmental requirements of the warehouse must be guaranteed. The bearings stored for a long time must be treated for rust prevention within a certain period of time. If rust is found, it must be removed in time. Only by carefully following the method described in the article can we ensure that the bearing will not cause losses during storage.
